Trawling for Online Love

So what do you do when your personal ad attracts the wrong people? Maybe an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, perhaps a cousin or someone you really did wrong. One look at your picture and boom, game's over. That is the plus side of posting photos along with your personals, but there are plenty of singles that aren't looking for that type of exposure. Once your image is online, there are any numbers of things that can happen to it.

Some of us aren't all that photogenic and many are looking for a partner that wants them for who they are and not what they look like. It is a double edged sword. Some don't want to be chosen because they look good and others don't want to be ignored because they look like trolls whenever photographed.

Though matchmaking services like eHarmony and Match.com encourages love seeking singles to post pictures, there are also personal ads sites like Craigslist that are free and don't expect much from their posters. So if you are one of those people that are not keen on posting your photos for everyone to see, you can only hope that the person browsing your profile will see the beauty that is inside of you and be willing to take a chance on chemistry. I'm sure we all remember the Seinfeld episode where the girl Jerry was dating looked horrid in certain lights and was a beauty in others. Hey, he was selfish and let that fish jump back into the pond.

What it comes down to it, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if you want to hook up with a new love, then posting your picture on dating websites is almost a must. But if you want to be loved for who you are and not what you look like, go ahead and take a chance that Prince Charming will see the person you are inside and to heck with what you look like.
