Rules to Dating Men

Gentlemen, do you have any idea what some women are looking for in a guy?

Caroline Gallay holds forth with snarky humor about what she terms the "Two Thirds Rule." That is, men must possess at least two of three important qualities to succeed in the dating world. Those qualities are looks, intelligence, and what she calls affability.

By this she means that you don't have to be a total hottie if you're a sweetheart with plenty of brains, and you can probably get through life just fine if you're a little dim, but charismatic and cute.

She goes on to say that these qualities apply to everyone and to life in general, not just to singles and dating. If you want to be successful in life, you've got to have at least two of the magic three, or you're going to be out of luck.

So which two thirds combination is a surefire way to win over a woman's heart? According to her, it is cute and friendly. She's not too worried about intelligence. She's gotten some grief for being willing to throw intelligence to the wayside, and I'd have to agree. I'd take smart and friendly, first. The pretty ones are nothing but trouble.

I jest, of course, but there is something to what Caroline has to say. These are three key qualities that are important to getting ahead in life, in attracting the opposite sex and finding a date. And if you're stuck with only one of these qualities in your repertoire, you should hope for looks or brains, because affability is easy to develop.

So, if you're in search of meeting new singles, it won't hurt any to spend a little time at the gym, do a little work to improve your SAT score, and learn to be friendly and personable. And hey, it'll help you out in life, too!
